Davis Mountain State Park in western Texas was looking to upgrade their well-known bird blind at their Interpretive Center with a live microphone feed. The park is popular with avid birders looking to see some of the rare birds that only visit west Texas during their migratory routes.
For this project, I created a custom microphone preamp that boosted the outside mics to allow for the necessary detail with a low noise floor. The preamp also needed to be small for logistical reasons. This detailed listening experience adds another layer of depth and understanding to the visitors’ bird observations.
