A complete sound set of alerts and audio logos was designed for Neato Robotic’s XV-11, their initial foray into the automated floor cleaning systems market. I worked closely with Smart Design in New York to develop a “personality” for the XV-11 and then directly with Neato’s engineers for the final production version. Additional sound sets were created for the XV-11 to allow customers to personalize their robot’s alerts. The classic sound set is still used for all Neato vacuum sytem models.
Smart Design’s original prototype for the XV-11 was featured in the Cooper Hewitt Museum’s “Beautiful Users” exhibition in 2014-2015.
